"As a farmer, I was always helping the builder when we were renovating or adding onto buildings. Later on I built our own sheds etc.
I went to night school to learn woodturning over 20 years ago. I was lent a home-made lathe for a couple of years and then bought my present one. I became a foundation member of the Wairarapa Woodworkers Guild then later a member of NWA (our national body).
I’m now one of our local members who teach woodturning."
